Explanation of Site Search Terms
Pages Indexed:
The maximum number of pages our spider will retrieve from your site and build a searchable index around.
Index Frequency / Auto-Refresh Rate:
Depending on the package selected, determines the interval at which our spider automatically revisits your site to update its index. 'On Demand' will cause our spider to visit your site only when requested via the login area.
Index on Demand:
When your site's content changes between scheduled Indexes (see Index Frequency), you can login and request an Index of your new content immediately. The number of 'On Demand' requests available depends on the package selected.
Sitemap:
A hypertext based outline of your site that provides complete navigation of the site from a single page.
Spider / Index:
The automated process of sending our 'bot' to your site, retrieving the HTML, and building a searchable index of its content. Also known as 'indexing' your site.
Secure Username:
You may provide a Username for FusionBot to login to restricted areas of your site, if you would like this content included in your index.
Secure Password:
You may provide a Password for FusionBot to login to restricted areas of your site, if you would like this content included in your index.
Robots META Tag Support:
Our spider respects META Tag settings within your site to know which pages you wish to include and/or exclude from your index.
Indexing Speed:
Control the rate at which our spider downloads pages within your site. This is useful for those with high traffic sites or limited bandwidth. A lower speed will put less strain on your server by lengthening the time between page requests by the FusionBot spider.
Please be aware that selecting '
Medium
', or '
Slow
' will cause a significant delay in the time it takes to index your site. As such, if your site has numerous pages, it may take up to 2 hours to complete the building of your index and have the email notification sent to you confirming completion.
Fast
==> 0 seconds between page requests
Medium
==> 3 seconds between page requests
Slow
==> 6 seconds between page requests
Vlink:
Short for 'Visited Link'. The customization wizard allows you to control the font color for previously visited hyperlinks on the search results page.
Alink:
Short for 'Active Link'. The customization wizard allows you to control the font color for the currently selected hyperlink on the search results page.
Filter Label String Length:
For data extract e-Commerce customers, search refinements text, typically displayed in the left-hand column, may exceed the available space to display the text without wrapping. To prevent wrapping, you can specify a maximum string length, that when exceeded, will be auto-truncated, and denoted as truncated by an ellipse. To reset to the entire length for all fitler text, delete your entry.
Filter Sort Order:
By default the order of
ALL
clickable refinements in each filter group is based on the number of matches for each entry is descending order. You can change this default sort order for
ALL
listings to be
Alphabetic
, based on the name of the refinement,
Numeric
, so that the sort order assumes your entries are numeric text, rather than alphabetic text for the refinement name(s), or, allow FusionBot to
Auto-detect
the text type for all refinements listed in a filter group, and apply sorting accordingly (if all refinements in a group are detected as starting with numeric values, the sort will be numeric, otherwise, sort will be alphabetic).
This option is especially beneficial for those with a large volumne of filters that get displayed dynamically by FusionBot, rather than set up manually in the search template, where sort type can be controlled on a per refinment basis more easily in the
Filters Entry Form
.
