Will FusionBot index my .PDF documents?

For all paid level subscribers, FusionBot will index the contents of your PDF files.

It is important to note that even though a PDF document may be a "single file", FusionBot will count each page within your PDF file towards your total package allowance.

Due to the potential for large PDF files in terms of bytes, the following additional restrictions apply:

Package Support Max. PDF
Size
Max. Pages
/ PDF File
FREE No NA NA
Bronze Yes 200K 100
Silver Yes 400K 100
Gold Yes 800K 100
If a PDF does not appear in your search results, as expected, it is likely that it exceeds the maximum byte allowance as outlined in the table above. To verify, login to your account and generate your 'Index Log Report', accessible via the 'Reporting tab. For any PDF file which exceeds the default maximum byte allowance, the Status field on your report will display the message 'exceeds max. byte allowance'.

This default limit can be raised for a small additional fee, by emailing our support department.

To DISABLE the indexing of your PDF documents, please reference our PDF Indexing FAQ.

As an alternative, since FusionBot counts each page within your .PDF document towards your total available page allowance, you may not want to deny the indexing of all of your .PDF pages, but rather, limit the maximum number of pages that FusionBot will include for any single .PDF document. By default, FusionBot will include up to 100 pages / .PDF document. You can manually set this limit anywhere between 1 - 100 pages, to prevent your .PDF pages from utilizing a disproportionate share of your available page allowance.

To override the default limit of 100 pages / .PDF document, login to your account, click on the "Spider" tab, and under the "Index Options" section click the "Maximum PDF Page Depth" link.
