My online store does not have a distinct Domain Path / URL, can I still subscribe to FusionBot?

The FusionBot Unique Site Identifier feature enables you to subscribe your site to FusionBot when the only value within a URL that differentiates your site is that of a single variable within every page's querystring.

This scenario is common with many shopping-cart related services that host multiple vendors under a single domain. For example, an e-commerce service may host thousands of commerce sites under a single domain name such as https://www.shoppingsites.com.

In this case, the only differentiating factor may be a Customer ID value that is included on every page name / URL within your site, such as store=123456:

https://www.shoppingsites.com/cgi-bin/shop.cgi?item_num=323&store=123456

To create searching functionality, using FusionBot, so that only your content is indexed, while ignoring any other pages within the shoppingsites.com domain, you can instruct the FusionBot spider to only add pages to your index, while crawling the shoppingsite.com domain, that contain the value store=123456 as part of their page name.

Setting the value of the Unique Site Identifier field to store=123456, or whatever value within your URLs that uniquely identifies your site, will enable FusionBot to successfully build a distinct index for your site.

To set a Unique Site Identifier value for your account, after logging in, click on the "Spider" tab, and within the "Index Options" section click the link labeled "Unique Site Identifier" and enter your desired value in the input box provided. Be sure to request a spider for your changes to take effect.

Please note: If your main site is hosted under a distinct domain, however, you also have an "off-site" shopping cart hosted by a third party where the only differentiating value is a unique identifier in every URL, and you wish for this content to be included in your FusionBot index, you can add the "off-site" url as a mini-portal entry with a corresponding unique site identifier.

For more information on this syntax, please reference the "STORE=" variable for configuring a mini-portal entry on the following FAQ.
